Kulturanthropologen untersuchen die Kultur und ihre Gesetze, überwiegend die der Mittel- und Unterschichten. Ich habe mich hier mit der Biersorte Kölsch beschäftigt, welches in der Vergangenheit vorwiegend von diesen Schichten verzehrt wurde. Mein Forschungsthema: „Kölsch – mehr als ein Getränk. Eine Biersorte als Medium regionaler Identitätskonstruktionen“, bezieht sich in der vorliegenden Arbeit auf die identitätsbezogene Besonderheit dieser Biersorte – seit Beginn der Kölner Biergeschichte bis heute, im Jahre 2011 –.

Die Biersorte Kölsch ist der Genussmittel- beziehungsweise Nahrungsmittelforschung zuzuordnen. Eingangs werde ich die Biersorte Kölsch definieren, um herauszustellen was once diese beinhaltet und um die Gründe für die genannte Zuordnung zu verdeutlichen. Der Übersicht halber ist die vorliegende Arbeit in drei Hauptkapitel unterteilt, wobei das Hauptaugenmerk stets auf dem oben genannten Leitthema liegt.

Im ersten Kapitel werde ich auf die Ursprungsfrage der Sorte Kölsch eingehen. Dazu bedarf es einer historischen Betrachtungsweise, wobei ich die Kölner Biergeschichte eingehend studiert und die wichtigsten und für diese Arbeit bedeutenden Geschehnisse herausgestellt habe. Hierzu ziehe ich auch den Wirtschaftsfaktor der Sorte Kölsch heran, welcher die Präsens dieser Biersorte widerspiegelt. Warum die Sorte Kölsch als einzigartig unter den Biersorten gilt, wird in dem Unterkapitel „Vertrieb“ geklärt. Am Ende des ersten Kapitels lege ich eine Markenübersicht der Sorte Kölsch dar, um einen Gesamtüberblick dieser Sorte zu verschaffen.

Das zweite Kapitel handelt von kulturanthropologischen Untersuchungen zu Aberglaube, Brauch und Ritual der Biersorte Kölsch. Das dritte Kapitel stellt explizit Identitätsfaktoren der Sorte Kölsch heraus. Weiter wird verdeutlicht warum die Biersorte Kölsch als regionaler Identitätsfaktor für die Menschheit gilt.

Die Schlussbetrachtung wird einen prägnanten Überblick meiner bereits herausgearbeiteten Erkenntnisse liefern und eine zusammenfassende Antwort auf das Forschungsthema geben.
