Dies folgt dem Anliegen Dōgens, Zen einer breiten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen und sich nicht auf eine Gruppe Gelehrter zu beschränken. Eine Fülle von Anmerkungen, die den textual content erläutern, soll diesem Anspruch in umfassender Weise gerecht werden.
